Plasma TVs, while very appealing have always had one major downfall: when viewed in the dark the image clarity drops. Of course while in a well lit environment the picture quality is stunning. Samsung has created its newest Plasma TV that solves this very problem.

Philips is showcasing the prototype model of its 100-inch Ambilight High Definition Television at this year’s IFA. The 100-inch television works with the Blu-Ray high definition format. The TV also features Full Surround which Philips states is “the new four-sided version of Philips’ totally unique ambient lighting technology”.

Samsung, today, released it’s first 70-inch high definition television. While it might not be as huge as the 103-inch television from Panasonic, it is Samsung’s largest television screen. Their current largest was a 65-inch television. Hopefully they will continue to push for larger televisions.

RCA has created its own HD DVD player. Because High Definition televisions are becoming more and more popular, the high definition DVD format wars are still continuing. RCA has launched the HDV5000.
It is backwards compatible. In other words it will be able to play your current DVDs and music CDs.
