DeepFish - Microsoft’s Mobile Browser

Microsoft has unveiled their new mobile browser know as DeepFish. DeepFish’s goal is to bring surfing on a mobile phone close to surfing the Net on a PC. Now we know that Apple’s iPhone will have this function. It uses the Safari web browser native to Macs.

If you have ever connected to the Internet and tried visiting sites you know how ugly it can be. You mostly see text links, with no pictures at all. For that reason, most people will only surf the Net to access important information.

Not only that but to include all the images and frills and load them on a cell phone takes way too much time.

DeepFish is hoping to solve this problem. The browser allows users to view sites just as they would on a PC. And because the browser only loads what you are looking at, instead of the whole page all at once, it loads much quicker.

Similar to the Safari browser on the iPhone, one can zoom in on parts of a webpage to get a clearer view. DeepFish allows you to enter urls in an access bar, allows you to submit forms and click on links.

Currently Microsoft doesn’t have any announcements regarding any specific releases. You can however check out DeepFish and also download it for a limited time. Microsoft will be looking to get feedback on the browser to make it better.
