Apple & EMI Release DRM Free Songs
Apple and EMI Music have agreed to place all of EMI Music’s digital songs on iTunes completely DRM free. DRM stands for Digital Rights Management and it bascally is technology that prevents people to make duplicate copies of songs and in this digital society doing so is so simple. The subject of using DRM is highly debated with many arguing for and against its uses.
But for $1.29 (30 cents more than a normal song) users will be able to download over 5 million songs completely DRM free. The songs also feature higher sound quality (another reason to buy perhaps). Users who have already purchased songs that are now being produced DRM free can upgrade for only $0.30 per song.
