Commenting on blogs (such as this one) helps to establish a community. It also helps to notify the readers of the blog of the individual’s idea on an article written by the owner. Comments also allow a slow kind of dialogue to emerge (though forums would probably be better suited).

Apparently, a crazy case has emerged on a site called Shoemoney.com. While Jeremy (the owner) can’t legally go into the evidence of the case it basically unfolded like this:

1) Person #1 leaves a comment about an article.
2) Person #2 makes slanderous comments towards Person #1.
3) Person #1 seeks damages for comments made by Person #2.

It’s a very interesting case involving blogs and technology. Now, I don’t know exactly what was said and how serious those remarks allegedly were. I will definitely be watching for the details and outcome of this story as they begin to emerge.
