Well, instead of reviewing a gadget today, I kind of wanted to look at gadgets and pick some that have now become a necessity. As the world becomes more technologically inclined, we are becoming more wired (or wireless as the case may be). So here’s the list of what I think are the top 10 gadgets we couldn’t live without.
If you want to add anything to the list, let the world know by leaving a comment.
10. Gaming Consoles Without the XBOX, and Playstation (among others) many of today’s youth would be hard pressed to find some meaningful recreation. Their evolution (think PSP) has allowed for better graphics, better portability and better gaming.
9. The PDAWithout their Blackberry (or Crackberry) many business people would find themselves useless. Yes, the PDA has found it’s way into the hands and hearts of be those who love to work away from the office. Allowing for simple tasks, such as note taking, it has become a business person’s best friend.
8. The MouseRemember the mouse of yesteryear. The ball mouse. It always got dusty and made moving it just that much more difficult. However, without the mouse we’d be punching in (and memorizing) keyboard shortcuts. Today, we have the optical and wireless mouse.
7. Television: How many times have you heard someone say,”I couldn’t live without TV.”? Thankfully, most of us have one and appreciate what a great mind numbing and relaxing tool this gadget really is. It also provides quality programming with shows like The Bachelor, American Idol, and who can forget America’s Got Talent.
6. USB Key: Ah the beloved thumb drive, the killer of the floppy. It’s cheap, small, and has a large amount of storage space. What’s not to like?
5. Camcorder: Camcorders have surely gotten a lot smaller than when they first came out. Now they can even fit in the palm of your hand. Of course, we couldn’t imagine a world without video, or home movies. How else would we capture little Johnny taking his first step?
4. Computer/Notebook: Without the invention of the computer, probably all the gadgets on this list wouldn’t be around. Computers allow us to run games, allow us to edit video, listen to music, or (the most dreaded) save us time on work. Notebooks have allowed us to take computing power (and work) and bring it with us wherever we go.
3. Digital Camera: The camera has come a long way from it’s humble beginning, from film to digital, the camera has allowed us to store the most precious memories. When you are at a party, there’s always someone with a digital camera.
2. The iPod: - Apple has created a winner with the iPod. Of course, the number 2 spot is really for you music/media player. As a student, I can’t go anywhere without my music. And since music has no bounderies, it has become a favorite gadget for everyone.
1. The Cell Phone: Whether you are a businessman or a student, the cell phone has become the necessity for people who want to be reached anywhere at anytime. The cell phone has also saved lives (calling from an accident site), and it has also stopped crime (pictures taken of criminals taken on phone).
While many will probably disagree with the order, or contents of this list, it at least makes us think that technology has become a part of our lives - it probably plays a larger role than you might think.

1How is the Ipod listed at #2 before the computer? It’s not really a big deal or anything, but you need a computer in order for an ipod to get mp3’s, computer should definitly get the #1 spot. Definitly
