Apple has taken the portable iPod and today has expanded it’s uses to the skies. Apple has joined with popular airlines such as Air France, Continental, Delta, Emirates, KLM and United to allow iPod connectivity, and more importantly allow an iPod to work with the in-flight entertainment system.

The connection allows iPod users the ability to power and charge their iPod. More importantly it allows them to view video from their iPod right on the TV on the back of the seat in front of them. This actually makes it more fun because you don’t have to watch television that is offered by the airline but could in theory bring your own.

Apple continues to expand the integration and popularity of the iPod everywhere.
