Photographers now have a whole new way of organizing their images. Sony will soon release the GPS-CS1 gadget that allows anyone to record the exact location they took an image. The technology takes the recordings of the GPS device and the time stamps from a Sony digital camera or camcorder (yup you have to own a Sony for this to work).

The GPS-CS1 is only 3.5 inches in length and comes with a carabineer so you can attach it to your backpack for example.

The gadget connects to your computer via USB cable and when you download the images from your camera to the computer the software included with the GPS device will organize the images geographically with information (latitude, longitude, time, date).

You then can activiate Sony’s Picture Motion Browser that comes with their cameras and literally upload the infromation onto an online up. The map then basically is a pushpin version of your journey(ies) with the photos right there for your viewing pleasure. (See image below).
