Sony today announced the release of the Vaio LS1 TV PC Combo. This is basically a great solution to those who don’t have a lot of space but want to place a PC and TV in a small area. Earlier we talked about another Sony TV PC combonation. At the time I thought that the concept was really neat, but frankly the display was not very appealing to look at.

This time around Sony got it right on. The display itself looks very nice. The Vaio LS1 has an invisible border that looks very, very nice in my opinion. If you are wondering where the heck the CPU is, the answer is it’s all packed behind the display.

The LCD display measures 19-inches and has a 1680 x 1050 pixel resolution. The Vaio LS1 TV PC Combo uses an Intel Duo Core processor and contains 250 GB of hard drive space. It also contains 2 GB of RAM which is very roomy for running intense games or applications.

The large hard drive space also allows you to store TV shows that you have recorded on to it. The computer is both Windows Vista capable and Vista Premium ready. To reduce clutter, ports are located on the sides and a wireless mouse and keyboard are included.

The unit comes backed with a built in wireless LAN technology and can be positioned anywhere in a home to access wireless networks.

Sony’s Vaio LS1 TV PC combo has a built in DVD burner and comes shipped with Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition. If you look at the image up top you will also see a small “dot” on the top part of the display.

That “dot” is a built-in webcam which allows for you to keep in touch with friends and families or make videos. It also has an integrated microphone, so you can have video and/or audio chat.

The Sony Vaio LS1 TV PC Combo, is a work of art. It looks good and provides a lot of multimedia features that can be enjoyed within a small space. The LS1 TV PC Combo will cost roughly $2100 (US) and will begin shipping in mid-September 2006.
