Skype Releases First Wireless Music Skype Phone
Asus Computers has released the first wireless Skype phone. Skype, for those wondering, is a free service that allows you to speak to anyone over the internet for free (even long distance).
Asus has created the AiGuru S1. The AiGuru S1 uses a Wireless LAN connection instead of a Bluetooth connection common in other Skype Phones. The LAN connection allows you to roam away from your computer to any part of your house and still be able to talk (in other words you don’t need to be tied to a computer).
The phone also acts as a wireless speaker. This allows you to stream songs that are stored on your PC and listen to them on the AiGuru S1. Added to that though, it also acts as a remote control, which allows a user to play, stop, rewind, skip songs, and more again without being next to their computer.
Other phone features also come packed with the AiGuru Si: Caller ID, phone book, call history, and a conference call feature are all on the phone.
One important feature that was added by Asus was that the phone allows you to listen to music, or watch and listen to a DVD while talking to someone. As for battery life, the phone has a 25 hrs standby time and 2.5 hour talk time.
