Many people require that they need to have data with them at all time. The floppy drive is nearly extinct and the beasts that killed it are CDs and USB (Universal Serial Bus) keys.
CD’s are larger than a USB key and generally hold less data compared to the larger USBs that are coming out.
Today we’ll look at the SanDisk Cruzer Mini USB Drives. In my opinion, this line is very versatile and can fit the budgets and needs of any individual.
The SanDisk Cruzer mini USB drives has 5 products in its line. The line up includes: 256MB USB drive ($34.99), 512MB USB drive ($49.99), 1GB USB drive ($99.99), 2GB USB drive ($159.99), and the 4GB USB drive ($319.99).
Of course, for this to work you need to have a computer with USB Support. If you are new to USBs or if you are wondering if you have this on your computer, check out this good article.
The SanDisk Cruzer mini USB drives will work with any version of USB (High Speed 2.0 and USB 1.1).
Also free with the SanDisk Cruzer mini USB drives comes data security software, three different color caps (to protect the USB connector from being damaged, and a neckstrap.
As with any USB drive, it will allow you to place programs, videos, files, images, music and more on it.
Then you can carry that data with you and simply plug it into another computer where you are able to access the information on the USB drive.
This is very useful for business people who work at home and office, or those that need data with them at all times. Students can also find a USB drive to be a very useful tool.
I personally own a USB drive and know many who do. USBs make life simpler, because you can now store more data than you ever could on a floppy and still enjoy the same level of portability.
Being in college myself it is proven very useful to have one.
Okay this sounds great, but which one should I buy?
As mentioned the size begins at 256MB (smaller) all the way to 4GB (bigger).
The bigger the value the more data (files, music, images) can be stored on the USB key.
I would recommend the 256MB for students in highschool or those in college. Of course, if you do have money to spend, bigger can be better.
For business people, I would recommend the higher end (2GB -4GB) SanDisk Cruzer mini USB drives. Depending on the job, one might need to store a lot of files or have large presentations that need to be stored on it.
I like how SanDisk thought of everyone while making this product. The design is small and sleek which makes its portability much easier.
