Samsung’s newest digital video and still memory camera was created in order to solve something that consumers were looking for. The business card sized camera performs 6 functions in 1. It acts as a digital video camera, digital camera, mp3 player, voice recorder, data storage device, and even a web camera.

The camera switches functions with a mode dial key that you press with your thumb. The fact that it is so tiny makes it easily portable. The VP-MS1x cameras come in three distinct colors: piano black, metallic silver, and wine red.

Features

Depending on the model you buy you can receive between 64MB -512MB. You can also add additional memory through a mini SD card slot. The VP-MS15 pictured above has 512 MB internal storage and can hold up to 27 minutes of digital video or 410 pictures.

The camera features 5.25 megapixel picture quality. The camera can also record video in MPEG4 format with a 640 x 480 pixel resolution. For images the resolution is 2592 x 1944. The VP-MS1x cameras feature a 15x digital zoom and a 3x optical zoom. The 3x optical zoom can be used while shooting videos.

Some other features of this 6-in-1 function digital camera is that it uses a simple GUI and hotkeys for easy navigation. It also has an anti-shake function that allows the images to be clear and reduce blur caused by the camera being shaken.

Another great feature is that the camera can be recharged through a USB connection to your PC.

All in all, it’s an interesting camera - 6 functions-in-1 camera that is no bigger than a credit card. That’s a pretty neat idea. I like how you can switch between a digital video camera, and a digital still camera, since it’s kind of convenient to have both no matter what situation comes up.
