Plasma TVs, while very appealing have always had one major downfall: when viewed in the dark the image clarity drops. Of course while in a well lit environment the picture quality is stunning. Samsung has created its newest Plasma TV that solves this very problem.

The new Plasma TV (actually 4 have been released) is a FilterBright Plus television. Normal plasma TVs have a complete color coating on the screen. Samsung basically put a filter on the screen that blocked out the external light, and then they maximized the light coming from inside the television screen.

Doing this kept the level of brightness at the same level and allowed for viewing in a bright or dark environment.

The new FilterBright Plus Plasma TVs also use Smooth Motion Driver lowers the amount of blurred edges and shaking in moving images. For eg. the subtitles no longer appear to shudder.

The new models also have a “9-in-2″ feature. The Plasma TVs can accept 9 different flash cards through 2 slots. This enables content to be displayed on the television screen.

These Plasma televisions (PS42/50H, PS42/50P7HD) have a 10000:1 contrast ratio ensuring a very clear and detailed image appears on the screen.
