Samsung, today, released it’s first 70-inch high definition television. While it might not be as huge as the 103-inch television from Panasonic, it is Samsung’s largest television screen. Their current largest was a 65-inch television. Hopefully they will continue to push for larger televisions.
The 70-inch LCD television features full High Definition resolution. It features a stunning 180 degree from any side (top, bottom, left and right). It’s the first television, that I have seent that actually has a perfect viewing angle.
Many television producers get close to 180 degrees but it’s pretty neat to see that barrier finally reached. The 70-inch giant TV also features a stunning 2000:1 contrast ratio allowing a sharp and clear image to be produced.
The 16:9 aspect ratio also allows the television to produce images that are close to theater quality. Along with all of this the television produces images at 120 Hz. This is double the speed of normal televisions and allow for fast moving pictures to be displayed with a lot less bluriness.
The 70-inch HDTV from Samsung will be officially unveiled on August 23, 2006 at International Meeting on Information Displays. Samsung will begin to produce the television in the first half of 2007.
All I can say is this television is great eye candy.
