Samsung HT-XQ100 Home Theater System

Samsung’s newest home theater system is really rallying around two major points: 1) Easy connectivity to other types of multimedia, and 2) saying bye-bye to messy wires, allowing for a tidier space.

To begin with Samsung has made it easier to connect other types of media to its home theater system. It’s the world’s first USB host theatre system. This means that you can connect any type of USB storage device to the HT-XQ100 and it will play mp3, JPG, WMA, DivX, and VCD files.

This eliminates the need for you to burn CDs to watch media or listen to it and allows you to view or listen to media on your television instead of your computer.

Secondly, it also eliminates the need for wires to get in the way. The HT-XQ100 uses a wireless connection to the rear speakers so that you don’t need to connect them with wires. However, the wireless module and connecting card need to be purchased separately, which I really would have like to see be standard in the theatre system.

The home theater system also allows for an optional graphic quality upgrading. You can choose to include features that allow the home theater to play at near High Defintion (HD) quality.

The system comes with 5.1 Dolby surround sound which can output a maximum 500W of power.

The HT-XQ100 is very sleek looking and comes in two colors: black and white. It will be available in May of 2006 for the cost of around 786 dollars.
