Samsung has developed another world first in technology. It has produced the first washing machine with Silver Care technology.
The new washer uses Silver ions in its wash cycles to eliminate 99.9% of bacteria making the laundry cleaner.
Samsung is using silver because of its anti-microbial properties to help fight bacteria.
When you wash your clothes with Samsung’s new washing machine, 100 quadrillion silver ions are injected into the clothing and fight the bacteria without hot water or bleach.
In most North American households, laundry is washed with warm or cold water and without bleach. This unfortunately, causes the laundry to be contaminated with bacteria.
Samsung designed this new technology with that problem in mind.
How Does it Work?
The machine contains a grapefruit sized device that house two silver plates (each the size of a large stick of gum).
Current then “shaves” these plates and inject the silver ions into the laundry where they reportedly clean up to 99.9% of microbial contamination.
The machine will be selling around $1099 (US).

1Re: SilveCare Washing Machine. I hope it isn’t silly of me to assume that eventually those silver plates will wear down to nothing. How long would it take for this to happen and will consumers be able to replace them at a reasonable cost?
