It was bound to occur and Samsung has released the very first optical mouse cell phone. The SCH-V960 model shatters the conventional 4 arrow navigational system. Users can use an optical joystick around a full 360 degrees to control the cursor on the screen.

The sensors placed in the phone will detect the direction and move accordingly. The navigation system is similar to that used on a PC. Samsung hopes that this new form of navigations will help the user select and find what they are looking for more quickly and easily.

The interface uses icons (again similar to that of your computer) to help you to get around. The cursor can also be used to scroll through your playlists. The SCH-V960 also has other features such as a 2 megapixel camera which allows you to take pictures of all those wonderful moments.

The cell phone also features a 2.12-inch screen, and a Smart Lighting function that controls how illuminated the screen is so that your eyes aren’t strained. The cell phone features mp3 playback capability, GPS funtions, and Bluetooth connectivity.

Samsunwill launch the V960 model at the end of December into the Korean market.
