Samsung has created a 1.98-inch LCD screen that has acheived the VGA standard. VGA screens are those used in notebooks and PCs. As you can imagine that level of image quality would be somewhat difficult to create on such a small screen.

These small screens are often used in cell phones and now will be able to display with more sharpness and quality. Recently, Samsung also mananged to get cell phone screens to display in sunlight.

The new screens will be able to display details that are as small as 63 microns (or for normal people about half the width of human hair). Another cool stat that shows the greatness of these displays is the fact that a 40-inch HD television contains 40 pixels per square inch, however, the new VGA screens contain 400 pixels per square inch.

The images appear at standard brightness and have a 300:1 contrast ratio. The new screens will also be able to support around 16 million colors.
