A Lenovo ThinkPad burst into flames yesterday at the LA Airport and a commotion ensued after many feared that another terrorist attack was taking place. The blaze occurred in a departure lounge of the airport.

Many saw a man rushing from a plane’s loading ramp when his laptop caught on fire. That instantly caused chaos. The blaze was quite large and required security to put it out.

Lenovo did confirm that the laptop was a ThinkPad T43. They haven’t confirmed that a Sony battery was being used. Sony’s batteries have been recalled from Toshiba and Dell after sparking laptop fires and raising safety concerns. But Lenovo states that the Sony battery it uses were not the ones recalled.
