Many owners of an Apple iPod, are always concerned about protecting the expensive music and video player. There are many different types of cases to protect the iPod out on the market and most do offer some level of protection.
However, sometimes protection comes at the cost of style. Today we’ll look into the iFrogz and their unique way of protecting the iPod without losing style.
iFrogz offers cases for the iPod nano,20 or 40 Gig 4th Generation iPod (monochrome screen), and the 30 or 60 Gig iPod Video. Their unique design comes in three seperate components:
Screenz
The screenz are basically a clear screen that goes over your iPod (from screen to wheel). Then you smoothen out any air bubbles with a soft card that is also provided. Once that is complete, you can add the custom sticker (image contains power button) that covers the wheel.
I was a little disappointed when I found out it was just a sticker, because the image doesn’t make it look that way, but anything thicker and the iPod would probably not notice your touch on the wheel. There are over 200 different stickers to choose from.
Wrapz
This is made out of 100% silicone and is soft to the touch. However, the silicone is thick (not too thick) and offers good protection. As its name suggests, the silicone wraps around the iPod and “hugs” it so now outside materials can’t get into the case. There are roughly 20 different color choices for the wrapz. Once the screenz is attached the iPod slides into the wrapz to give it all around protection.
Bandz
The bandz are simple silicone bands that go around the outside of your iPod or wrapz. This offers greater protection around the outside edges that are more susceptible to bumps. The Banz feature comes in 21 different colors.
Each of these protective devices can be purchased together to build a custom case for your iPod or can be bought separately. The larger cases feature a clip that you can attach to the back of the wrap and clip to your belt.
I had a chance to actually get a hand on these babies and they worked very well. It offered very good protection to the iPod without compromising style.
To buy the entire set costs you $31 dollars, but iFrogz is currently selling them for $24. The website allows you to “create” a case on your virtual iPod.
