Dell has produced its biggest widescreen flat panel monitor. The 3007WFP is a whopping 30″ TFT-LCD monitor. I admit, I think I’m jealous. I have a 19″ CRT monitor, but this monitor is huge.

This monitor is perfect for people who are big gamers, like large monitors, or like flat panel monitors that reduce clutter on the screen and on the desk.

Below are some important stats on the 3007WFP monitor from Dell.

I found the pixel pitch (the distance between the pixels on the screen)to be a bit high . I found that as monitors get larger the pixel pitch goes down. The .250mm is average and you might be sacrificing some clarity because of the largeness of the monitor itself.

The contrast ratio (ratio between brightest and darkest possible picture) is good at 700:1.

The maximum resolution is very good. The larger the resolution, the increased quality of the images you are viewing on the screen.

The 3007WFP monitor also comes with 4 USB inputs and a 9 in 2 media card reader at the left and right side of the monitor.

This makes it easier to insert portable devices and access your files quickly.

Dell recommends that you use an ATI or NVIDIA video card in your computer to really get the maximum visual output from this screen. The large screen is perfect for viewing DVDs or even high definition television (HDTV).

Of course we can’t forget gaming. I can’t even begin to imagine how cool games would look on this monitor especially if you combined this screen with a decent or above average graphics card.

Because the monitor so large it is very useful in allowing you to place many multiple windows on one screen or have many applications running at one time.

Bigger screen also means bigger price - $2,199.00 (US) to be exact.
