CCleaner a.k.a. Crap Cleaner

CCleaner Crap Cleaner. That is one of the coolest names. Basically Crap Cleaner is free software that scans your computer and eliminates all of that useless junk.

I was a bit skeptical at first. I knew it was a good product from what I heard, but I wanted to give it a test run. So, I downloaded it and it began to scan my computer.

That took awhile, which was probably a good thing. It meant that Crap Cleaner was searching deep in the computer look for unused and temporary files.

And there happened to be a lot of it on my computer. I had used it for about 3 years now, and it accumulated over 750MB of junk.

That is 3/4 of a Gigabyte (GB)! Today’s post will discuss some of the neat features of CCleaner.

It deletes:

gazottoInternet Explorer: temporary files, URL history, cookies, Autocomplete form history, and index.dat.

gazottoFirefox: temporary files, URL history, cookies, download history.

gazottoRegistry: unused and old entries

gazottoWindows: recycle bin, recent documents, temporary files and log files.

gazottoOther Programs: removes temp files and recent file lists (MRUs)

I really liked the software. It’s easy to use and even reduces clutter by simply right-clicking on the Recycle Bin, and selecting the Open CCleaner option.

It speed was pretty fast (not dreadfully slow), but after 750MB of crap cleaned out I’m not going to complain to much.

It’s a small file download, it’s quick, it’s free, and spyware free. I love the program and will now use it to get the crap out my (PC) system.
