Apple Releases Mac Pro With Intel Xeon Processors

Apple has released the newest version of Mac Pro. The new Mac Pro features Intel’s 64 bit Xeon 5100 Duo Core processor that clocks in at 3.0 Ghz. Apple has also improved the computers architechture so that it’s 2 times faster than Power Mac G5 Quad.

The new Mac Pro is the last computer Apple switched to using Intel chips. Their transition has now been completed within 7 months.

The Mac Pro comes with 4MB of L2 cache memory and 1.33 Ghz front side bus (FSB). RAM is clocked at 667 Mhz.

What’s pretty neat about this Mac Pro is that it can support up to 4, 500GB hard drives (that’s 2 Terrabytes (TB) of data). At the same time it can also allow for 2 optical drives (CD or DVD). However, the notebook comes standard with a 250 GB drive which is still very roomy.

Apple’s Mac Pro comes with 256 MB of graphics memory by using NVIDEA GeForce 7300. You do have the option of upgrading to other NVIDEA or ATI cards that feature 512 MB of graphic memory.

The Apple Mac Pro will ship with Apple’s famous Mighty Mouse and keyboard. It will cost $2,499 (US).
