Apple has announced the release of the iPod High Fidelity Sound System. The new system is a sound system that works seamlessly with the iPod. Apple claims that the new system provides unrivaled breathtaking acoustic performance for the iPod.

The system is powered via an AC electrical wall outlet or 6 D batteries, allowing the iPod Hi-Fi to become portable. The sound system is controlled by the Apple Remote that comes with the product.


Steve Jobs, CEO, had this to say about the new sound system:

Price

The iPod Hi-Fi comes with an Apple remote, and AC power cord, and 10 Universal Dock adapters. The system sells for $349. The iPod Hi-Fi looks great and if it really does live up to the superbness of its sound, then this is one promising gadget.
