Philips is showcasing the prototype model of its 100-inch Ambilight High Definition Television at this year’s IFA. The 100-inch television works with the Blu-Ray high definition format. The TV also features Full Surround which Philips states is “the new four-sided version of Philips’ totally unique ambient lighting technology”.

Toshiba has produced its latest Qosmio notebook computer. The Qosmio G35-AV660 comes packed with a powerful 2.0 Ghz Intel Duo Core processor. The Qosmio notebook also comes packed with an HD DVD drive (Toshiba’s high definition disc) which allows high definition movies to be viewed.

Greenpeace, probably the biggest known environmental group, just wrapped up a study they called: Your Guide to Green Electronics. Greenpeace looked at 14 electronic companies an rated them on the following two things:

Asus Computers has released their version of the Ultra Mobile Personal Computer (UMPC) from Microsoft. Microsoft announced that Asus and Samsung would be manufacturing the UMPC and now the R2H has been released.
The R2H UMPC has a built in high resolution webcam, GPS system, fingerprint scanner and a generous 7-inch LCD display.

Remember the legal wranglings between Apple Computers and Creative. Well seems everything has been patched up now. Creative was suing Apple because it claimed that the iPod was abusing the “Zen Patent” - a music managing software that Creative claimed it patented before Apple used it in its iPod.

Samsung, today, released it’s first 70-inch high definition television. While it might not be as huge as the 103-inch television from Panasonic, it is Samsung’s largest television screen. Their current largest was a 65-inch television. Hopefully they will continue to push for larger televisions.
