Google has announced that they will add music results to its search results.

They have noticed that a lot of searches have been for music artists. To that end they have added music searchability to the engine with a feature called Music “Onebox”.

The music results are currently in beta. Only very popular artists in the US and worldwide are featured. As time goes on they will evidently expand the database.

When you search for the artist, a thumbnail or the artist appears along with a link to “More Music Results”. If you click on that link there is a plethora of information that you can get about the artist

Thumbnails of the albums appear and by clicking further, you can find track titles and even websites for the lyrics to the songs themselves.

There is much more information like reviews and news on the artists themselves.

Music “Onebox” looks great and I’m sure that music lovers will use it when it goes wide stream.
