Get SIRIUS Satellite Radio With the SIRIUS S50
The future of radio is constantly changing. Radio had to always be hooked up to a plug in the wall. Then it moved on to being a portable device that people brought with them while jogging, or running.
But now the future for radio looks fresh with the introduction of satelitte radio. Today we’ll discuss what satellite radio is and take a closer look at the SIRIUS S50.
What is Satellite Radio?
Satellite Radio is basically a means of tons of radio channels from a satellite instead of getting them from a radio station nearby. In other words, the radio signals are sent to a satellite, then the satellite sends them to your location, and then you hear the content.
What makes this cool? Well, satellite radio offers many more channels than standard radio and it is 100% commercial free.
You can listen to music, sports, comedians (totally unbleeped), news, entertainment and so much more. Certain channels are used by certain artists. For example, Eminem has his own channel.
With 120 channels there is plenty to pick from.
SIRIUS not only offers satellite radio, but they also offer a wide range of radios that can be used in the car, at home, or everywhere.

Well, I think if you are a fan of satellite radio than this is a great product. It allows you to bring it with you anywhere, anytime and at least allows you to replace the batteries.
The SIRIUS S50 costs around $329.99 dollars. That is fairly expensive, but this is a brand new product from SIRIUS.
Plans
Satellite radio, however, is not free. There are many costs involved. SIRIUS offers many plans that you can take advantage of.
Monthly plan: $12.95/mo
1 year: $142.45 (1 month free)
2 years: $271.95 (3 months free)
One-time pay: $499.99
Frankly, I don’t know what to make of satellite radio. There are definitely good benefits. There are no commercials and everything is uncensored. It’s got everything and if you have the money I would agree that it is great product.
This product, I believe, will further make satellite radio more accessible to the public. However, mp3 and music players are very popular and I don’t know if satellite radio can break into that market.
I think technologically speaking this is a winner. We’ll have to wait and see how popular it becomes with the public.
SIRIUS does offer a 3 day free trial and I’d recommend that you do check it out.

Well, I’ve been using my S50 for about a month and love it. I was shopping for the home kit so I can record Howard Stern when I’m not in my car. The one they sell is $100 bucks and doesn’t transmit over FM. Really simple solution. I bought an AC to DC converter. I plug it into the outlet, plug the cigarrette ligther adapter in, hang the antena out the window and voila, I get live sirius content transmitted over my fm clock radio in my bedroom. All this for $10. It doesn’t look as pretty as the fancy home docks, but with a little fiddling around I’m going to come up with a home made cradle.
